Our agency started in 1947. Gus A. Dahlmeier, was in the real estate business and had probably $200 worth of insurance business. The office location was in an old railroad building, which is now an optometrist office at the northwest corner of Myers & High Streets in Oroville, next to the Western Pacific Railroad Park.

Hal Dahlmeier joined his brother, Ed W. Dahlmeier in the year 1950, and a decision was made to go into the insurance phase full time. Both brothers retained real estate licenses, but were not active in the real estate business.

In 1965 the present Oroville office located at 2080 Myers Street was built and occupied by the Dahlmeier brothers. There have been six expansions since the construction of the original building. The firm was a partnership with Ed W. Dahlmeier, Hal A. Dahlmeier, and later, T. Cheetham who is now deceased.

In 1985, Hal A. Dahlmeier purchased his brothers' interest and the business was incorporated as Dahlmeier Insurance Agency. In 1986, John G. Dahlmeier, CIC, joined his father and became Vice President and partner.

In 1992 Dahlmeier Insurance Agency purchased Glenn, Gilzean, and Dumbroski which was located in Chico at the current location of 1368 Longfellow Avenue. Glenn, Gilzean, and Dumbroski was a full service agency. Richard Glenn started it in 1948, with Bob Gilzean and Robert Dumbroski later joining the agency as partners. The purchase of Glenn, Gilzean, and Dumbroski was a plus for Dahlmeier Insurance Agency, assuming a longstanding Chico clientele and locale.

Since it's inception in 1949, Dahlmeier Insurance Agency has grown to become a leading insurance provider serving Northern California commercial business and residents. Our service extends throughout Butte, Glenn, Nevada, Sacramento, Tehama, and Plumas counties. Dahlmeier Insurance Agency takes care of a variety of insurance needs.
